Car sharing systems like Zipcar (US/CAN) and AutoShare (CAN) are good green alternatives to owning a vehicle. They cut down on the waste involved in car production and allow you to choose the right vehicle for the task at hand rather than buying a large vehicle whose full capacity you'll use only a couple times a year. You'll save money by not needing full-time insurance and parking too!
