Call them what you will: knickers, underpants, underwear, undies, pants, panties, boxers, briefs, drawers or skivvies - they cover your bum and your naughty bits. GreenKnickers takes this simple task to another level with 100% organic certified fair-trade cotton and other sustainable fabrics.

Like many of the products we review here GreenKnickers goes the extra mile to ensure all aspects of their business is green. Beyond using green fabrics, they also use organic-approved and natural dyes, their packaging and labels are recycled and they use local producers (in the UK at least). Their commitment to the environment even extends as far as the washing instructions which read:

“Protein stains are best removed in cold water. Wash your knickers cold!”

I received a pair of GreenKnickers’ men’s boxers and a pair of the women’s knickers and I must say the workmanship looked great and they felt nice and soft. I also really like the variety of fun designs and slogans - if you can’t have a little fun with your pants off, when else can you?

At 15£ GreenKnickers are the most expensive underwear I own - but also the greenest. Prices tend to be higher in the UK so I’m not sure how this compares there but for the North American market it’s pretty steep. As a luxury good though, GreenKnickers have got the green goods (and your goods) - but they’re no bargain.

What do you use to cover your bum? Let us know in the comments!
