Why should I buy a bottle when I can reuse a glass bottle that I already have in my own home. Seems a waste of money not to mention co2s for shipping and extraneous packing material. Glass leaches nothing into the water, can be cleaned over and over and no one has to ship me anything. Oh yeah, and my wallet is a little fatter. Thanks.

Aluminum has to be coated with something to prevent aluminum poisoning. Go with stainless steel, like Klean Kanteen.

I’d like to get a SIGG bottle myself because I bring water to campus everyday. But unfortunately, SIGG doesn’t accept PayPal, and if I were to buy one in Malaysia, it would cost double of the price of one

I just bought a stainless steel water bottle that is similar in size and shape to the conventional nalgene from Guyoto products. They also make silicon spill guards and print their tags with soy based inks on recycled content paper. Strong and no chemicals.

we’ve been having a lot of discussion about which water bottle is best over at our site - I love my sigg, but my co-blogger jenn isn’t convinced that the coating they line the can with is sturdy enough! does anyone have any more information about it?

I bought a SIGG and just love it - handy, safe, and super stylish at that. I’ve been stopped and asked many times where I found it - my beautiful buy for February (with FREE shipping, too!):

Klean Kantee bottles make the water taste metallic. Stick with Sigg. However they are behind production due to tremendous damand

I bought one of these bottles thinking it was a SWISS made bottle, but found out that it is made in CHINA which is known for LEAD POISONING and these bottles are metal. Needless to say I returned the bottle back right away. It is deceptive that they market these as SWISS bottles and have the SWISS flag on them, where in reality they are CHINESE made water bottles.

You bought a knockoff. Sigg water bottles like the one pictured above are only made in Switzerland.

First, we tossed our Nalgenes, why take the risk. But my understanding is that the amount of BPA in these plastics is so small that there is almost no chance of be effected. Also, you know those 5 gallon water jugs at our offices? They are #7 plastic as well, most of them anyway. No one is rushing to oust those. If it is such an emergency shouldn’t there be a mandate and a change there as well since that is affecting thousands more people. Finally, Nalgene is also working on alternatives due out this month, most through Guyot Designs. Advantage to outdoors folks with items such as ceramic pumps is that you will not have to buy a new pump to fit a different brand. That is worth $75 bucks in my case. I recommend not partaking in the frenzy, and buying up all these Sigg bottles at inflated prices. Just let the market catch up, within a few more weeks there will be plenty more to choose from.
